Tenant Fees & Charges

Following the introduction of the Tenant Fee Ban on 1 June 2019, most fees previously paid by tenants have now been waived. However, some charges remain and are outlined below.

Holding deposit

Maximum of one week’s rent and only one payment taken per property under application. If the applicant withdraws their offer, the agent and landlord have the right to withhold this fee

Security deposit

Maximum of five weeks’ worth of rent for properties with an annual rent below £50,000. This rises to 6 weeks’ rent for tenancies with an annual rent above £50,000.

Arrears

Any missed rent payments will still need to be paid for by the tenant.

Loss of keys

A reasonable charge will be payable to cover the either the loss of key or the changing of locks

Changes to the Tenancy Agreement

Tenants can be liable for any reasonable charges up to £150.00

Early termination of contract

The tenant may be liable for to cover the cost of any set up fees if the landlord suffers a financial loss from an early termination

Damage to rental property

Reasonable costs for any damage can still be claimed through the security deposit at the end of a tenancy.
